Why do I need original website content ?
One of the first things that a website publisher needs to realise, is that Search Engines are very intelligent and that your content is very closely analysed before it is returned as a result.
Companies like Google, hire the best brains on the planet to continuously update and perfect their techniques and methods of doing business. There is very little, in terms of content, that can fool a search engine and one of the things that they penalise a site for, is duplicate content.
In the early days of the world-wide-web, in an attempt to get to the top of Google, publishers used to sacrifice actual readability (natural language) to stuff their content full of keywords to help improve their sites relevancy ratings.
This would result in list of duplicate pages, on hundreds of sites, being returned as a result for a search and the entire experience of using a search engine was on its way to being ruined.
Those days are now long over and Google meticulously examines each individual page for originality and quality. The content is then compared against all the other indexed pages on that topic, in order to establish which page will provide the reader with the most satisfying experience.
If a user has to search Google 20 times to find the right content, they will soon use another search engine. This is a fact that Google is very aware of and their entire business model revolves around the relevancy and quality of the results.
Imagine a robot, zipping around the www at unfathomable speeds, collecting and cataloguing information; and then arranging it in order according to it’s quality and uniqueness, before displaying the results of a search.
Once a result is clicked, Google then analyses how long a user stayed on the site, how they interacted with the site and, now recently, even if the page was shared across the social media matrix.
Good quality content which engages the reader will naturally provide them with a satisfying experience and establish your companies authority on the subject.
A satisfied reader who respects your business, is easier to convert to a customer. A regularly updated and informative website will greatly assist you in retaining that customer and establishing your reputation online.
Publishers who insist on posting duplicate content will simply be penalised by Google and then delisted and not indexed again.
Say goodbye to your web-presence, your brand and along with it your customers.
